NOTICE: At this time the Chicagoland MG club is moving full steam ahead.

We all know that Covid is still a thing to be concerned about especially indoors. Please vaccinate! We are all too old to learn the entire Greek alphabet.

They have reserved their usual date and buildings in hope that Covid related group restrictions will be behind us. So mark your calendar with this "Save-The-Date" information. Vendors and shoppers alike should monitor this site for any updates about the Swap in March 2022. Past vendors have been directly contacted.

Since 1997 the CMGC swap meet has been held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois in early spring. The site is an indoor heated facility that is centrally located approximately 30 miles due west of downtown Chicago. There will be a food vendor on site and an ATM in the building.

Back by popular demand join us for John Twist’s return to Mark Brandow's shop, Quality Coaches. You still have an opportunity to meet John Twist, the MG guru behind Michigan’s  University Motors who has helped countless people maintain , restore, and understand their MGs.
Mr. John Twist, previously inducted into the British Sports Car Hall of Fame, is sharing the honor with some of the biggest names in British Sports Car history.

Still only $100 per day for May 14th or 15th, this year’s technical seminar sessions!

Anyone who has ever Goggled an MG problem while working on their car will be familiar with the over 300 YouTube videos on just about every aspect of classic MG tuning and maintenance presented by the charismatic John Twist.

Hopefully you clicked on Donate to help keep these videos available. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the legend.

In the past he has discussed Lucas electrics, built up the bottom end of an engine, tuned various models of LBC’s, and rebuilt an overdrive gearbox. All this while sharing his vast knowledge of MG lore. John’s tech seminar may be the best $100 you’ll ever spend on education about your car. There are often small things he will explain or correct that will make a HUGE difference in power or reliability.
The day will be educational, fun, and entertaining, all while sharing in great MG fellowship with a legend in the MG world. Starting out each day once again John will explain some of the beginnings of MG automobiles. The sports car America loved first!

Remember as a bonus, some or most attendees will be able to bring their car thru a rolling tech/tune-up by John.

We will be following CDC guidelines for mask usage, etc.

Call Mark from Quality @ 612 824-4155 right away if you plan on going. Lunch is included.

Payment must be made directly with Quality Coaches.

     *** MG2022 UPDATE ***
Due to overwhelming response we can no longer guarantee the availability of our convention rates at the Holiday Inn Peterborough-Waterfront

There are plenty of rooms still available at our convention rate at the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn.

Those who have already submitted their registration up to this point will have access to our convention rate and should stand by and await their phone call from the hotel. We are requesting that you have patience as the hotel works through this backlog. The first list of registrants have been submitted and calls will be going out starting today.

If you haven't registered yet, we urge you to do so as soon as possible to ensure your top choices for activities remain available.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

MG Car Club of Toronto and the North American MGB Register are excited to invite you to Peterborough, gateway to the scenic Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario next June 19-23 for MG2022. Peterborough, Only 17 driving hours away, is located roughly half way between Toronto and Ottawa and the area boasts some fantastic MG driving roads in Central Ontario’s idyllic cottage country.
Peterborough is a vibrant small city that is home to some excellent local attractions. We are thrilled to be heading back to Peterborough after hosting the very first annual convention of the North American MGB Register there back in 1992.

Prior to MG2022, the MG Vintage Racers will be having their 2022 Focus Event at the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix. The theme will be MG Against The World. Running from June 17-19 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park aka Mosport, located a short half hour drive from Peterborough. This promises to be a fantastic few days of vintage racing and when combined with MG2022 would provide an MG vacation for the ages.

MG2022 officially begins on Sunday, June 19 when we open registration. Sunday evening we have the NAMGBR Meet & Greet where you will be able to meet the officers and registrars of the register.

    • North St Paul

The North St. Paul History Cruze started on a Friday night in 1996 with about 25 cars near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Margaret Street. It has grown and now draws 700 to 1,800 cars each week that park along a half-mile + stretch of 7th Avenue and fills many adjacent parking lots. The street is closed to other traffic for the night and a fair-like atmosphere prevails with street vendors, music, and food.

The Cruze runs each Friday night from early June to late September (6:00pm - 10:00pm) rain or shine.  During the summer only six Friday nights are reserved for a "Car Club of the Night".  This year the MMGG has been selected and assigned August 19th as a featured Car Club.

The featured Club has a new reserved "premier" show-lot location. The lot is located on the east end of 7th Ave on the southeast corner of the intersection of 7th Ave and Charles Street. You enter the show-lot from Charles St.

The lot can hold up to 20+ cars so please contact me (Paul Lyon, plyon1962@gmail.com) or signup on the website “Events” section if you will be attending.  The Main Street show-lot will open at 5:00pm. As in previous years I will need some help directing attendees into the show lot and help picking the top car of the night.

    More information to come.

    Best wishes, Paul Lyon
